Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7 compact superzoom (TZ10 outside the US) is featured with GPS that geo-tags and identifies over half a million locations. Regarding its movie recording performance, the DMC-TZ10 can record high-definition motion picture in AVCHD Lite(*.mts). It allows almost doubling of the recording time in HD quality compared with the conventional Motion JPEG format. The picture quality is greatly enhanced thanks to the newly added Intelligent Resolution technology. Read The Full Story

Recently I have purchased a Sony HDR-SR12 and Vegas Pro 8 bundle from B&H. When I transferred some HD video, AVCHD to be specifically, to my PC for editing in Vegas 8 Pro I get a “format not supported” error. I just couldn’t believe it! If Sony Vegas Pro 8 can not handle 1920*1080 AVCHD videos whey B&H sell the two as a bundle in the first place?
I’m all new to video stuff and editing as well, I just need a simple solution to help me import SR12 AVCHD files to Vegas Pro 8 successfully. I’ve tried Picture Motion Browser PMB for my editing purpose as someone suggested on some forum, but the software crash so often that I can barely get it to work. From some threads on creativecow, I tried out a program called Aunsoft Final Mate as a MTS to Sony Vegas Pro Converter, which is exclusively designed assistant software for HD camcorder users proclaimed by its developer Aunsoft Studio. Honestly speaking, I’m very happy with the result. As far as I can tell, converted videos from Sony SR12 AVCHD 1920*1080 M2TS videos to Sony Vegas WMV(VC-1) format work smoothly on Sony Vegas Pro 8 and there is no degradation of picture quality from naked eyes.

People who have a Sony Camcorder hdr cx350v or cx106 usually have trouble to edit AVCHD (.mts) file in Pinnacle Studio 12. So many of them hurry to get the latest version Pinnacle Studio 14, which is said to support it. When I have import some .mts files from my hdr cx350v and cx106 camcorder to Pinnacle Studio 14, there is any problem. And I now have nice little thumbnails of my .mts files in pinnacle 14, but I cannot do anything at all with them… when I right click on them and chose “play” absolutely nothing happens, also if I drag the clips to the timeline just before I release it, I can see the yellow bars that indicates how much space it will occupy on the timeline. BUT when I release it, nothing happens not a single error!
Other standard mpeg files works just fine in pinnacle where I can edit and play them without any problems… So I have to look for a program which is able to transcode highly compressed avchd .mts and make it editable in Pinnacle Studio 12 or 14. I am luck enough to get Aunsoft Final Mate which is recommended by my friend. This program is really a nice Sony camcorder video to Pinnacle Studio converter which helps me a lot. Read The Full Story

While AVCHD is getting popular in HD camcorders, more and more media player would support AVCHD playback, e.g. WD TV HD media player. However, when I play the videos on HDTV streaming from WD TV, there is obvious gap between each clip.
I would like to join video clips into one without re-encoding, so as to keep video files intact for the highest quality. What’s more, it will save time waiting for output files at super fast speed without conversion. Read The Full Story

I have Panasonic HD camcorder, and it creates many mts files (video clips). Normally I use Pinnacle to author/encode these files but the process is very long. Since my Western Digital HD media player can now play mts files directly from an external harddrive, I just want to combine these mts file into one big file. Read The Full Story

Are you still looking for an easy-to-use AVCHD joiner? Some converter would provide .mts or .m2ts output with decoding and encoding. However, the compression progress will take a long time. The fastest way to merge and join AVCHD files into a single file would be the one that does not require recompression.
Aunsoft Final Mate provides the express way to join MTS/M2TS sequences with the same format and recording mode. No conversion is needed for the lossless output, and the speed is super fast.
The AVCHD sequences with the same video formats require the video are shot with the same codec, frame rate and size, aspect ratio, sample rate and channels. Actually, if you use the same recording mode on the camcorder like the 1080/60p on Panasonic HDC-TM700, HDC-SD600,HDC-HS700,HDC-TM900 ,the videos will be recognized as a sequence. Read The Full Story

I use the WD TV remote to play the folder with the .mts files recorded using the new Panasonic HDC-TM700. Even though Western Digital TV media player can play .mts files sequentially, there are pauses in playback of sequential .mts files. The small delay is likely 2 seconds. I used tsmuxer to join the .mts files for a more complete viewing experience, but the large output .mts video playback present on WDTV shows that the audio track falls behind the video about a second.
When looking for joining mts files for WDTV without quality loss, I find the tsMuxer alternative named Aunsoft Final Mate. It works like a charm when I import my videos, as it would automatically merge the video clips for me, and provide excellent output video quality with fast speed. Read The Full Story
