AVCHD MTS/M2TS to WebM Converter – Publish/Sharing HD videos Online via HTML5

I have a Sony Handycam, Sony CX700, which produces .mts files for each clip I press the start recording and pause button. The videos will be used as a presentation on my website. I use VideoJS as the private web server, and make the video compatible to most browsers with HTML5 code.
However, I would like to put some clips together and cut some useless segments and get videos in WebM format. After googling solutions for converting CX700 AVCHD to WebM format for web sharing with HTML5, I find Aunsoft Final Mate as the best choice for dealing with the videos for web sharing. It provides direct .webm as output format, and also allows me to download selective clips for joining and editing. Read The Full Story

Convert/Edit Panasonic HMC150 Videos to FCE and then Distribute via BlipTV and TubeMogul

I am recording on a Panasonic HMC-150 (typically in 1080p30 and 1080p24)) and do my editing in FCE. However I need a program to convert the recorded files into something FCE can recognize.  I do online tutorials and distribute to roughly a couple dozen different sites through BlipTV and TubeMogul. So far I’ve been limited to recording in 720p30 because it’s the best format that I can work with through iMovie (I use imovie to import the raw video, export as a quicktime and then import into FCE for final editing then do a final QT conversion to mpeg-4 for upload; and to be honest not real excited on the quality I’m getting as a finished video. So I need a program which can let me convert Panasonic HMC-150 1080p MTS to high quality FCE suitable format for editing. Solved the Quality Problem for Stitching Together Sony CX700V MTS files to SageTV

I have been filing away .mts files from my HD Sony CX700V camcorder since last month… I am now trying to get these into a viewable format so that I can stream them in the highest possible resolution to TVs using SageTV media extenders (can stream just about anything). I would just like to stitch together related .mts files for SageTV. I’m not concerned with being able to burn to any sort of removable format at this time.
Here’s what I am running into. I have been able to find a way to do this with both Roxio 10 (VideoWave) and FCP. Both seem to provide the functional result that I am looking for. However, the video quality is not nearly as rich as when I play the native .mts files individually. Am I doing something wrong with my settings or is this to be expected due to the rendering and compression? Is there a way to create a single file comprised of multiple .mts files without loss in quality?
