AVCHD-Lite is a subset of AVCHD. This is going to mean any camera that uses AVCHD and records 1280×720 video will be referred to as an AVCHD Lite camera because it’s unlikely that cameras will record AVCHD video at lower resolutions. What you really need to know is that any video editing application with support for AVCHD should also support AVCHD Lite without your needing to do anything differently.
Although Video Studio 12 is claimed to support AVCHD video, but the result is that Panasonic Lumix AVCHD lite of 720p can not be handled perfectly by video studio 12. Some problems will be encountered. For example, AVCHD video files can not be imported. Video is played with a slower speed and the issue of video and audio out of sync.
