As with the Panasonic HDC-HS300 we reviewed earlier this year—and all high definition Panasonic camcorders—the Panasonic TM300 records video using the AVCHD codec. AVCHD is more common now than when it was first released several years ago.Be warned, however, that you cannot simply drag and drop AVCHD files from your camcorder to your computer. You’ll want some kind of editing program in order to properly import the files. Also, keep in mind that AVCHD files are very large and will take up a lot of processing power on your home computer.
As a teacher, I always make some presentation for my students. Presently, there are several video clips(like Final Cut) in my Panasonic TM 300 which I want to edit and then show to my dear students. However, Final Cut Studio does not import the AVCHD HD Videos. So I have to refer to another way to make these MTS files importable and editable in Final Cut Studio. Via Google, I find that Aunsoft MTS to Presentation Video Converter for Mac is the recommended program to convert Panasonic TM300 AVCHD files to MOV for Final Cut Studio.

Here is the step-by-step guide for you to import and edit Panasonic HDC-TM300 MTS to Final Cut on iMac/MacBook Pro with Mac OS X like Snow Leopard.
Step 1. Load Panasonic AVCHD videos to Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac.
After transferring .mts files from Panasonic HDC-TM700 camera, run Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac as the best Mac Panasonic MTS to MOV converter, and click the “Add” button to load .mts videos.
Step 2. Choose H.264/AVC MOV output format.
Click the “Format” option, and choose Adobe Premiere/Sony Vegas > MOV (AVC)(*.mov) for converting AVCHD videos from MTS to MOV with H.264/AVC as video codec for loading to Final Cut Studio. With this option, the output video will be kept as high definition1920×1080.

Step 3. Merge Panasonic AVCHD files. (optional)
Tick the checkbox for “Merge into one file”, and the Panasonic HDC-TM300 MTS converter will join and combine the video clips into a single file as output.
Step 4. Convert HDC-TM300 MTS to MOV for Final Cut.
Click the convert button under the preview window, the Mac Panasonic MTS converter starts converting MTS videos to H.246 .mov, and joining the MTS files for editing in Final Cut Studio.
After converting and merging the MTS files, just import the output files to Final Cut Studio and the video is in HD 1920×1080. You can also import the output videos to Final Cut Express (FCE) 4 for editing in full HD.
Tips:
1. The .mov output from Aunsoft Panasonic MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac also works for other editing tools like iMovie, Adobe Premiere, Avid Media Composer, Kdenlive, etc. The Mac Panasonic MTS converter automatically deinterlaces AVCHD videos and removes interlacing artifacts for perfect video playback on iMac/MacBook Pro.
2. If you want to edit Panasonic MTS videos on Windows machine, you may try the Windows Panasonic MTS to MOV converter.
