Convert/Deinterlace Sony AVCHD/M2TS Files to WMV for Adobe Premiere?

“Since Adobe Premiere 6.5 does not work with Windows 7, I am testing out trial PPCS4 to see if it is compatible with my hardware before I buy, but I can not get it to work. Does Premiere Pro CS4 support Sony HDR-CX150 file types? If so, how do I get this to work? Received error message “unsupported format or damaged file” while trying to import AVCHD (m2ts) and MPG2 files into Trial PPro CS4.

This is a question I encountered in Adobe forum and as a Sony HDR-CX150 owner, I would like to share my experience of editing Sony CX150 M2TS footage on Adobe Premiere. The program I recommended is Aunsoft MTS Converter which works perfect on my Windows 7 64 bit computer. quite easy and fast in converting generated M2TS files to Adobe Premiere.

Here share the step by step guide on how to use this Sony CX150 AVCHD/M2TS converter.

Step 1.Load M2TS files to Aunsoft MTS Converter.
After transferring AVCHD/M2TS files to hard drive, drag and drop M2TS files to be converted to this software. And another way to accomplish this importing is clicking “Add” button on the menu bar.

Step 2. Choose output video format.
Click “Format” option and choose WMV (AC-1) (*.wmv) or MPEG-2 (*.mpg) from “Adobe Premiere/Sony Vegas ” as the output video format.

Step 3. Edit &deinterlace 1080i M2TS video files.
Click “Editor” button and the editor interface will come out with some editing options as shown below. There you are allowed to crop/trim video files and add special effects, like gray and aged film. Go to “Effect” section and tick the checkbox of “Deinterlacing”, interlacing effects can be eliminated perfectly.

Step 4. Start this conversion from Sony CX150 M2TS to MOV for Adobe Premiere.
Click the “Convert” button under the preview button, this conversion will be started immediately.

After the conversion is completed, it’s time for you to import MOV files into Adobe Premiere for further editing.
