Can Magix Movie Edit Pro Import Sony HDR-SR10 MTS Videos?

I have a friend who has Sony HDR-SR10 AVCHD camera and wants to edit the HD .mts files in Magix Movie Edit Pro. However, Magix Movie Edit Pro does not recognize the .mts file. He transferred Sony HDR-SR10 files to computer by connecting the camcorder with a USB 2.0 cable. The AVCHD camcorder then activated the USB HDD mode and once the connection was established, he could access directly the MTS files inside the camcorder.
