Take the bags of film (with the original metal film cassette) to a film processor who is willing to open the film in a changing bag or darkroom. I suggest a local camera shop with one hour developing, but if they were not willing to remove the film, they may not be willing to process it either. You might have to get on the internet and find a processing place. Just explain the situation by email and ask if they can help. It won’t take long before someone says “sure!”
If either of these solutions are not feasible, you could try calling the local colleges, high schools, or photo clubs. One might be of service.
A few to many of your images will be totally ruined, depending on how long you left the back open. Many will have light leaks along the edges and can be cropped. Some could have leaks around the sprocket holes only. Some, perhaps as much as 2/3rds or more, will be salvageable, but I can’t make any promises.
It could turn out to be a blessing. One of my big award winners shows a flock of Canada geese flying past a windmill in front of a setting sun. In the foreground is a patch of golden misty fog. That fog is from a light leak caused when I forgot to rewind the film and opened the back. It made a mediocre image much better.
I hope this helps. Good luck!
No help for that roll..
Lets look at a reason or two for it to have happened.. you decide if one may have gone on or not.
Turned the rewind the wrong way.. causes the film to snap off the spool in the can..
Over advanced the film, often has sproket holes ripped out at the end..
Hope this helps so that it does not repeat.
Deary me, where to start… OK, you obviously didn’t wind the film back into the canister otherwise it wouldn’t be on the right hand side. Just what did you do?.
And secondly, there is absolutely no point in developing this roll. It is long gone.
Unfortunately, if the film has been exposed to external light, it’s ruined.
Like the question said, what’s the cheapest music and camera phone with expandable memory for tmobile?
I have a flip video camera and every time i try to edit the videos i record on wmm, they only import as audio with a blank screen. How can i fix this for free?
flip video camera records video in .mp4 format that you can’t play in windows media player or edit in windows movie maker, at this situation, you can change .mp4 to avi, mpeg-1, or wmv format using flip video converter(only free trial, need to pay several bucks for full vesion)
I know in the States they have Eye-Fi with a geotagging service but they dont sell these sd cards in the uk, i was wondering if there was a way to geotag my pictures with an sd card that has gps in the uk or something?
My camera takes sd cards only, has not got wifi or gps.
Also i have a mac, if this is at all relevant….
