How can I record form a video camera directly to a laptop?

Need to find a camera that hooks up to a GPS. Nikon has them because I have one. Don’t know about others.
If the camera came with a USB cable, just plug it in to your computer and copy the files over.
If it didn’t, get a memory card reader. Take the memory card out of your camera, put it in the reader, and plug that in to your USB port.
You have to make it store the photos in the memory card you bought…….
It now just saves them in the small internal card it has had in it……… That’s all….
Just read the manual……>!!!
First, 256mb is a rather small capacity card. If you can, get a larger one, of at least 1gb. The prices are coming down all the time, so you should be able to get one cheap. You won’t be able to fit many pictures at the highest quality on your card. You can fit more by reducing the quality, but unless your pictures are only for computer screen display, you should not reduce the quality.
Another thing you should be doing is loading your pictures onto your computer or external storage device on a regular basis. Don’t leave them in your camera more than a day or two, let it fill up, then delete pictures to make more room. That glitches your memory, by the way.
I had finished the roll and wound it up. Opened the back of my camera to see that the film had rolled itself round the right hand side, rather than back in the canister. How can I rescue this?
I have no developer, so I can’t process it myself. Need to preferably prepare it for a printing/developing store. Any advice asap greatly appreciated!
First, call your local camera shops that also do film processing to see if they can remove the film from the camera without exposing it to more light. Most have access to a darkroom or a changing bag and will do it for you. Be nice and have them process the film afterwards.
If you can’t find a willing helper, you can do the following:
1. Turn off the lights in a bedroom.
2. Go into your closet with your camera, two bottom corners cut from a thick black plastic bag, the original plastic film container, and some black electrical tape. Close the door and make sure the closet light is turned off.
3. In the dark, open the back of your camera, PUSH the film release button and carefully pull out the film, touching only the edges and rolling it up as you go so that it will fit back into the plastic container. Don’t touch the film between the sprockets or your fingerprint could become a part of the image.
4. When removed, put the film into one of the corners cut from a black plastic bag and roll it up tight to prevent light leaks. Use a piece of tape to hold the bag shut.
5. Put the bag of rolled up film back in the plastic container, put that in the second corner cut from a plastic bag, roll and tape it up. Don’t force it if it will not fit; just discard the container and put the bagged film into the second bag. You can now turn on the lights.
